The main focus of the event will be the official handover of the unique Class 502 Electric Multiple Unit from the National Railway Museum to the Friends of the 502 Group. There will also be an opportunity for the public to view the progress made with the restoration of the driving trailer car (unfortunately, due to the difficulties in accessing the unit, visitors in wheelchairs will be unable to view the interior).

However, to add interest, entries to the Rally are now invited from owners of historic commercial, military or public service vehicles, together with any transport preservation societies who wish to have a stand at the event.

Tickets (£4 for adults, £1 for children) are now available to purchase from this page.

Site Address: 'The Sidings', Tebay, Cumbria, CA10 3XR

Tebay in Steam

While visiting Tebay, why not visit the Tebay in Steam exhibition? This exhibition is located in Tebay Church, a railway church built on land donated by the railway, with money from railway workers and shareholder. The inside of the church is lined with LMSR bricks, it has pews modelled on waiting room seats and the font cover is modelled on an engine cover.

Tebay Church is located off Church Street just behind the Cross Keys Inn.
